We’re seeking an experienced Senior Moodle Developer & Technical Product Owner to lead the evolution of a global digital learning platform used by students across an international network.

This is a hands on role combining deep Moodle development expertise with technical product ownership. You’ll be responsible for shaping platform architecture, delivering new features, leading integrations, and driving engineering best practice across a highly visible, strategic product.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead development across Moodle 4.5+, including custom plugins and core extensions
  • Own technical design and delivery of new platform features
  • Design and implement APIs, integrations and middleware solutions
  • Drive platform scalability, performance optimisation and architecture decisions
  • Enhance CI/CD pipelines, release processes and development standards
  • Collaborate with product, education and technology stakeholders
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years’ Moodle development experience
  • Expert PHP development skills
  • Strong experience building Moodle plugins and extending core functionality
  • Experience with REST APIs and third-party integrations
  • Deep understanding of Moodle architecture
  • Azure deployment and CI/CD experience
  • MySQL/PostgreSQL and JavaScript (ES6+)
Desirable
  • Education or EdTech experience
  • Large-scale platform experience (10,000+ users)
  • Learning analytics, personalisation or AI exposure
