The Role
Instinct is working with a long-standing client in the education space, who are recognised for their high excellence in teaching and learning standards. They are seeking an experienced Learning Design Manager for an interim maternity cover role. This is a hands-on, strategic position, responsible for overseeing learning design projects, managing contractors, and ensuring high-quality online learning outputs. The successful candidate will combine leadership, project management, and occasional hands-on design to support a dynamic learning portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage learning design projects, ensuring timelines, priorities, and deliverables are met.
- Oversee and support contractors, providing clear guidance, constructive feedback, and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Conduct quality assurance of learning design outputs to maintain high pedagogical standards.
- Provide strategic guidance on learning design approaches, frameworks, and processes.
- Undertake hands-on design tasks as required, including reviewing and refining existing learning products.
- Identify opportunities for content reuse and suggest potential enhancements or new proposals.
- Use Articulate Rise to support module development and refinement.
- Build effective relationships with academic and professional services stakeholders to ensure alignment and engagement.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proven project management experience.
- Experience managing contractors and fostering team collaboration.
- Strong background in learning design, with the ability to provide strategic guidance.
- Ability and willingness to perform occasional hands-on design tasks.
- Experience with Articulate Rise.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Understanding of Higher Education frameworks, credit systems, and academic policies.
- Experience working within HE or EdTech environments.
