Learning Designer
NW LD 1507
Our client is a well known business school that’s part of a prestigious university. It’s known for combining academic excellence with real world impact, through leadership, innovation, finance, and responding to global challenges. They are looking for a Learning Designer with a strong grounding in finance, economics and/or mathematics – either through academic background or previous project work in the sector, to join for 3 months on a part-time basis. The content is technical in nature (corporate finance, economics, quantitative modules), so while they’re not looking for an SME, they are looking for this person to be confident sense-checking content and bridging the gap between subject-matter experts (faculty) and engaging digital learning design.
Much of the groundwork will come from academic lecturers, but they are looking for someone who can help translate long-form lecture material into more interactive, learner-friendly formats – suggesting improvements, adding structure, and elevating the learner experience.
Required skills and experience:
- Strong understanding of finance/economics subject areas (e.g. financial reporting, corporate finance, econometrics, asset pricing) – able to sense-check academic content without needing to be an SME
- Experience designing and developing engaging digital learning content, ideally in Articulate Rise 360 or Storyline
- Skilled in developing varied content formats: video scripts, case study questions, quiz items, graphic briefs, interactive elements, and written explanations
- Familiarity with pedagogical best practices, especially for technical/quantitative subjects
- Comfortable working across multiple projects simultaneously and switching between tasks and topics
- Strong attention to detail for quality assurance – particularly in reviewing complex financial/mathematical content for accuracy and clarity (albeit not to an SME level)
- Able to work independently while documenting processes and learnings for consistency and improvement
- Not client/faculty-facing in a stakeholder management sense – focus is on hands-on content design and development
