Role
This is a specialist LMS Consultant opportunity supporting a client during a critical phase of LMS and learning product development. The focus of the role is technical shaping, optimisation and translation of complex learning ideas into buildable LMS solutions. The client is making a significant investment in their LMS (Plume) and is developing advanced concepts around competency schemas, structured data models, and AI-assisted guidance layered on top of the platform. You will act as a technical partner and critical friend, helping to shape competency frameworks, define data models and rules, support light prototyping, and act as the bridge between the internal team and the LMS development partner. A key part of the role is confidently challenging assumptions; questioning timelines, identifying inefficiencies, and ensuring the LMS is being used to its full potential while avoiding unnecessary complexity.
Skillset required:
- LMS expertise: Strong experience working at a technical level with LMS platforms (Plume experience highly essential)
- Data & frameworks: Ability to design and shape competency schemas, data models and rules
- Technical translation: Comfortable turning ideas into build-ready requirements, specs and light prototypes
- Developer engagement: Confident working directly with LMS developers, challenging timelines and solutions where needed
- Product mindset: Able to assess what’s needed vs unnecessary and optimise platform capability
- Consultative approach: Self-directed, proactive and comfortable acting as a critical friend
- Clear communicator: Able to bridge technical language and business needs
Rewards
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and optimising a heavily invested LMS during a critical growth phase.
