Lead Instructional Designer

Our client is a UK-based company that builds and operates full-fibre broadband networks.

Role

Reporting to the Talent and Development Director, the primary function of the Lead Instructional Designer is to lead the small design team to design high-quality learning experiences by creating a design and content strategy and mentoring the team to provide development and feedback to enhance the team’s capability.

The goal is to create learning experiences using best-practice design methodologies to support learners in acquiring and embedding knowledge, skills and competencies.

• Creation of learning solutions that can be delivered face-to-face, virtual, digital and via eLearning modules
• Identify best practices, trends and developments in learning design & technology
• Deliver projects to agreed timescales, budgets and defined expectations 

Person

The successful person will have:

• Experience in supporting, developing and leading a high-performing learning team
• Experience in building a content and design framework to create best-practice learning experiences
• Proven experience in instructional design
• Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
• Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System
• Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard
• Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts

Rewards

A remote position leading and mentoring a small digital learning team which offers a salary of £65,000 per annum.
