Moodle Trainer

Instinct is working with a leading higher education body who are undoing a number of institution-wide transformation projects, aimed at bolstering the technical proficiencies of staff across the organisation. They are currently seeking a Trainer with an excellent understanding of the Moodle LMS to join on a short but impactful contract tenure and lead on the delivery of training sessions around Moodle.

Training will include a Train-the-Trainer package for one of their digital teams, as well as three targeted sessions covering assignments, moderation, and administration within Moodle. The trainer will not be designing content but will deliver materials prepared by the Instructional Designer. Extensive Moodle knowledge is essential, particularly around assignments lifecycle and third-party plugins, with experience in blended training delivery and strong facilitation skills. The role requires someone resilient and credible, able to meet the high standards of SMEs.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

• Strong training delivery background, ideally within Higher Education
• Extensive Moodle experience essential, including:
• Assignment activity and marking and feedback processes
• Knowledge of 3rd party plugins
• Need to be familiar with setting up Moodle activities, particularly the Moodle Assignment activity
• Ability to deliver Train-the-Trainer sessions
• Experience delivering blended training, predominantly face-to-face
• Skilled in facilitation and group training delivery
• Comfortable working with demanding SMEs with very high standards
• Hands on/back-end technical knowledge of Moodle is desirable but not critical
