Learning Technologist

We’re currently supporting a prominent UK higher education institution in the search for an experienced Learning Technologist to provide short-term support across key digital learning initiatives. The role has been created to help reduce internal workload pressures and maintain delivery momentum on critical Canvas-based projects.
Our client is a leading university recognised internationally for its strengths in the creative arts, design, and innovation. With a diverse student population and a strong academic reputation, the institution places a high priority on delivering engaging, accessible digital learning experiences. The role sits within a specialist digital learning function supporting a wide range of academic
departments and online teaching activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and configure content and courses within Canvas
- Conduct QA checks to ensure content meets internal standards
- Collaborate with in-house Learning Technologists and developers to resolve technical issues
- Use tools such as BugHerd for issue tracking and troubleshooting
- Apply accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2) where required
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong working knowledge of Canvas (content creation and course setup)
- Basic HTML for formatting and editing content
- Confident diagnosing and resolving Canvas build issues
- Experience working with internal and third-party development teams
- Familiarity with scalable Canvas design practices (desirable)
