Client

Our client is a leading global business with a large and complex operational environment. The organisation is currently reviewing and developing its safety training to ensure existing content remains compliant, relevant and engaging for its operational teams.

Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Learning Content Specialist / Learning Designer to support a key safety training project.

The role will focus on reviewing and rewriting existing safety training content, much of which is currently developed in PowerPoint, and transforming it into learning that is more engaging, visual and memorable.

You’ll use PowerPoint, animation, motion and visual storytelling to bring safety concepts to life, working closely with SMEs and stakeholders to ensure the content is accurate, relevant and aligned with brand guidelines.

The role will cover the learning process end-to-end, from initial discovery and content review through to design, development, piloting and train-the-trainer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and rewrite existing safety training content
  • Identify content that is no longer compliant, accurate or relevant
  • Transform complex safety information into clear and engaging learning
  • Create visually engaging learning content primarily using PowerPoint
  • Use animation and motion to bring safety scenarios and concepts to life
  • Use visual storytelling to demonstrate real-world situations and potential consequences
  • Work within established brand guidelines
  • Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to understand operational requirements
  • Take learning projects from discovery through to pilot and final delivery
  • Support the development of further safety learning initiatives across the organisation
Essential Experience
  • Strong experience in Learning Design, Instructional Design or Learning Content Development
  • Experience developing safety, operational, compliance or risk-based training
  • Excellent PowerPoint design and development skills
  • Experience using animation, motion or other visual storytelling techniques
  • Ability to turn text-heavy or technical content into engaging learning
  • Strong understanding of how to create memorable and learner-focused experiences
  • Experience working closely with SMEs and stakeholders
  • A creative approach to learning design, particularly within safety-focused or regulated environments
  • Ability to manage learning projects end-to-end
Desirable Experience

Experience within one or more of the following environments would be particularly valuable:

  • Aviation/airline/ground or ramp operations
  • Rail
  • Shipping / maritime
  • Warehousing/logistics
  • Engineering
  • Military / defence

Previous experience creating safety training is particularly advantageous. The client is looking for someone who can take safety information and make it meaningful at a human and emotional level, helping learners visualise situations and understand the potential repercussions of their actions.
