The client is a not-for-profit organisation that supports businesses in a variety of ways, including workforce programme delivery, start-up/scale-up growth, influencing policy and creating platforms for collaboration, visibility and investment.
Role
They’re looking for a Subject Matter Expert and Trainer to help deliver content face-to-face for a new cohort of Apprentices, specifically in Java. The content will include topics such as SDLC, Git, Introduction to Java, Variables, Data Types and Arrays, as well as much more.
There is also an opportunity for this to be an ongoing commitment with a long-term relationship with our client for future needs.
Responsibilities:
- Strong commercial experience in Java development, with a solid understanding of SDLC, Git, and core programming fundamentals (including variables, data types, arrays, and OOP principles).
- Proven ability to deliver engaging face-to-face technical training, breaking down complex concepts for entry-level or apprentice learners.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting junior developers or early-career talent.
- Confident facilitating practical workshops, live coding sessions, and providing structured feedback to support learner progression.
- Professional, organised, and passionate about developing new talent, ideally with experience in apprenticeship or structured learning programmes.
