Role

This interim Workforce & Skills Architecture Lead will play a key role in shaping and embedding job role frameworks and career pathways across both operational and professional populations. Working closely with senior stakeholders, L&D, and the wider People Team, you will ensure that skills, roles, and learning are aligned, governed, and supported by robust systems and data.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and embedding job role frameworks, skills grades, and career pathways across the organisation
  • Partnering with L&D to map training and development against role and skills frameworks
  • Facilitating workshops and discussions with senior leaders to align roles, content, and governance
  • Configuring and maintaining frameworks, workflows, and data within learning and people systems
  • Supporting the implementation of a new learning technology platform
  • Producing guidance, toolkits, documentation, and training to drive adoption and consistency
  • Acting as line manager to a Workforce & Skills Architecture Analyst
  • Providing commercially astute advice to leaders and managers on people, skills, and workforce design
Person

The successful candidate will bring a strong blend of people strategy, learning, systems, and stakeholder engagement experience, and be comfortable operating at pace in a complex environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in workforce architecture, job frameworks, skills frameworks, or organisation design
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including influencing senior leaders
  • Experience working closely with L&D and learning systems
  • Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining HR or learning technology platforms
  • Confidence facilitating workshops and delivering training
  • Strong data, governance, and compliance awareness (including GDPR)
  • People management experience
