The client
Our client is a leading UK-based defence and technology organisation delivering advanced capabilities across defence, aerospace, cyber, intelligence, sensors, surveillance, and secure systems integration. They work closely with UK government departments and international partners to support national security and strategic operations.
The Role
The Configuration & Data Practitioner (CDP) is responsible for managing all elements of configuration and data control across the project lifecycle. This includes internally generated documentation as well as materials received from customers, partners, and subcontractors.
You will ensure all programme-related information is securely stored, accurately controlled, and fully compliant through to contract close-out.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all deliverable and non-deliverable contract data, ensuring proper identification, scheduling, approval, submission, and acceptance
- Administer and support Configuration Change Control Boards (CCCB)
- Maintain and govern the project repository and digital file structures
- Apply and administer Configuration Planning, Identification, Change Management, Verification, and Audit processes
- Support ongoing Data Management activities, including CMMI, IPDP, and internal audit gate reviews
- Ensure compliance with Customer, Company, Security, and Programme Standards
- Manage digital files and work products, including those received from the Authority and suppliers
- Champion Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement
Essential Experience
- Strong experience in Change Management and Data Management within structured environments
- Working knowledge of Windchill
- Understanding of Records Management principles
- Awareness of Configuration Management & Data Management (CMDM) processes and artefacts
- General awareness of the Five Configuration Management Pillars
- Understanding of the Government Security Classification Policy (GSCP)
- Experience using Kahootz and/or SharePoint
