The role
Reporting to the Talent and Development Director, the Lead Instructional Designer is responsible for guiding a small design team to create high-quality learning experiences.
This role involves developing a comprehensive design and content strategy and mentoring team members to improve their skills and capabilities through feedback and development.
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Develop learning solutions for face-to-face, virtual, digital, and eLearning delivery.
- Identify best practices, trends, and advancements in learning design and technology.
- Complete projects within agreed timelines, budgets, and specified expectations.
What you’ll need
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in instructional design, lesson and curriculum planning, and developing best practice learning experiences.
- Strong background in leading, developing, and supporting high-performing teams.
- Excellent understanding of learning theories, instructional design models, and content creation frameworks.
- Proficient in course development software, HTML, Flash programming, and at least one Learning Management System.
- Skilled in visual design (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator), storyboarding, and writing effective instructional text, audio, and video scripts.
- CIPD Learning and Development Level 5 or TAP equivalent
The Rewards
As well as the opportunity to work within a leading utility provider, you will also be working one day a fortnight on site in Reading (with the rest of your fortnight spent working from home) on a salary of up to £65,000.
