Instinct is working with a leading education body who are the distinct leaders in their fields of specialism and have an excellent reputation within their market for the quality of their teaching offering. Having invested heavily into their XR learning experiences over the past few years, they are now looking for an experienced XR Development Manager who can utilise their experience to lead an ambitious team as well as managing a range of exciting projects. 

The role will involve developing a mix of VR, AR, 360, and bespoke immersive solutions in order to maintain and excel the digital solutions on offer to staff and students within the organisation. Aside from this, the successful placeholder will act as a subject matter expert in the creation of AR and MR as well as the use of gaming engines in the field of education solutions, and will be confident identifying and communicating areas of best practise of XR development. One of the key areas of this role will be managing a team made up of 3D Artists, Technical Artists, and Unity Developers, so this person will need to have managed team members previously. 

The ideal person will have experience with the following:

  • C# & blueprinting (essential)
  • Educated to degree level (or industry experience equivalent) in a pertinent field.
  • Excellent, advanced Unity / Unreal engine hands-on development experience within a professional setting.
  • Experience of managing developers, tech artists or other XR practitioners.
  • Familiarity with VR and AR headsets and hardware.
  • Project Management skills for Virtual Production, using tools such as; JIRA and Trello.
