It is with a heavy heart that I write this final Managers Trust Instinct League blog of the season, and what a season it has been.
From the flying start of FC Cranners’ to solid consistent ‘James Milneresque’ performances of Ballotellitubbies, to the numerous woeful performances by Moore Four Two, this season has had it all.
As we take a look at the final table, a special mention has to go to Instinct’s own Luke Alexander and The Mighty Wolves who fought to the bitter end at the top end of the table but ultimately lacked the quality required to nick a European spot.
The top spot was all but guaranteed for Tekkers FC going into the final month, who ended the season on a highly desirable 2,295 points. There was still a lot to play for below them and whilst Lee Hardy’s Dynamo Fookdarest will be relieved to have clung on to second place by just 13 points, My Sandwich FC will surely be disappointed that they were unable to hold off a final week surge by Real Betis Hotpot to claim 3rd place.
I suspect there is going to be lots of intensive training going on over summer for some of our teams at the bottom of the league to improve on the woeful performances of the 2015/16 season. The aptly named Time Well Wasted FC and Willy Wilsons were one of four teams to break the 1,400 point mark this season, which in an ever improving league just won’t cut it.
I would like to round up this season by congratulating the formidable Tekkers FC on a well-deserved championship and by thanking you all for taking part in what has been yet another very entertaining season in the Managers Trust Instinct League.
Good luck with your pre-season training, see you next season.
