Instinct’s client is a Manchester (North West) based organisation that produce amazing cutting edge digital solutions for a range of clients nationally. They are currently seeking a Lead Web Developer with .Net experience to be responsible for programming strategically sound, architecturally robust, web or interactive technical solutions; to produce technical specifications and system diagrams; managing output from wider development team; and ensuring timely delivery in conjunction with Senior Producer.
The main duties of this Lead Developer role are:
// Overall responsibility for programming design and development decisions on projects to which Development team is assigned, as well as testing and ensuring projects meet required levels of functionality.
// Produce technical specifications and system diagrams to scope out new projects.
// Liaise with Department Head and Senior Digital Producers on new projects and any issues encountered in dealing with new software/technologies or project completion milestones.
// Ensure timely delivery of specified tasks in accordance with agreed functional specifications.
// Ensure Development team keep you and Project team informed of scope of work, work load and highlighting where more time is required before it is spent.
// Providing guidance and support to Development team in ensuring technical solutions are robust and in line with industry standards and best practice.
// Be aware of latest digital UX best practice guidelines and any impact these may have on our solutions, cascading this knowledge to more junior team members.
The skills and experience we are looking for in this Lead Developer are:
// Significant experience as a Lead Developer or Senior Developer, working across both front and back end development
// Educated to degree level or equivalent with formal computing/programming qualification/s
// Thorough knowledge of wider technologies including:
- ASP.NET & PHP
- jQuery, SQL Server, XHTML, HTML5, CSS & XML framework
// Thorough knowledge of development environments, in particular Visual Studio
// Thorough knowledge of internet standards and best practices
// Passion for emerging technologies and enthusiasm to keep up-to-date and cascade knowledge to wider teams
// Awareness and understanding of other aspects of digital technologies and their role in improving business and marketing functions
// Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technological solutions to non-technical people
