Flash Programmer (Games) // North West // up to £35k

Instinct’s client is an exciting digital and gaming development business based in Cheshire, in the North West of England.  They currently have an opening for a Flash Programmer to help develop new and innovative online games.

This Flash Developer / Flash Programmer (Flash / Flex / AS3) is an important role within the team.  Applicants will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy, demonstrating innovative approaches to problem solving and taking account of the games performance whilst recognising the need for coherence with the company’s existing technology and protocols.

Applicants for this Flash Developer / Flash Programmer role should have previous experience in a similar role from a commercial environment using the following technologies:

// Flash / Actionscript – proven commercial experience is essential

// Actionscript 3.0 / AS3 and OOP. Java, C, C++, or Objective C a bonus

// Knowledge of server-based technologies, particularly XML, PHP and SQL

// Preferably educated to degree level (or equivalent)

// Multimedia, Graphic Design or Animation skills are advantageous

// HTML5 experience would be a distinct advantage

// Java, C, C++, or Objective C a bonus

The successful Action Script (AS3) Flash Developer will be working as part of a small yet experienced team of developers, and must be comfortable working closely with the rest of the team. You will be expected to estimate timescales for your tasks in advance and deliver milestones as part of the development process.
